Self-Driving Motorcycle

Yes, you read that right! Self-driving motorcycles are on the rise! You will remember from our last blog post about tech trends of 2019 that anything and everything autonomous is making its way into our tech world, so why wouldn't motorcycles join the movement to?

BMW is in the works to create the first ever self-driving motorcycle, but here is the catch- you can't actually buy it.

The minds behind the self-driving motorcycle began the creating process not to sell the product but, to work with the technology behind the motorcycle to see how they could offer, “more stability in critical riding situations,"- so basically to see how they could make motorcycles more safe.

Motorcycle accidents occur 28 times more frequent than other fatal crashes, making the idea behind the self-driving, purely for research sake, motorcycle a brilliant idea.

These days, with all of the advancements in technology, it is not surprising that inventors are looking now to see how they can use this technology to better our everyday lives, not only in convenience, but safety as well.

Although other companies are beginning to look into this new idea as well, BMW is one of the first to actual make the motorcycle and begin to monitor and look at its data. Yamaha is working to create 'Motobot', with the only catch being- it can't ride itself, which takes away from the fully autonomous part.
