Virtual Reality: An Experience Campaign

Updated: Oct 27, 2018

Virtual reality used to be so foreign to us! I remember seeing the VR googles and being in amazement of the technology! Now it is not shocking when you go to the mall and see virtual reality game stores. Virtual reality has becoming more and more main stream to us!

Virtual reality is not just for gamers though. Virtual reality is being adopted by advertising companies as well. For example, North Face made an ad campaign that let their audience hike through places like Yosemite National Park and Nepal through virtual reality. Their audiences can get a 360 view of the trials and landscapes. When you think about it, this is an excellent campaign! The audience is immersed in the experience, giving them an experience to crave. When the audience tries to fulfill that experience, they will go to North Face for their hiking needs since they associate that experience with North Face.

Lowe’s home improvement stores have also added virtual reality technology to their company. Lowe’s allows their customers to use virtual reality to see what their homes could be through their virtual reality program called Holoroom. Holoroom allows Lowe’s customers to envision their dream homes. Holoroom allows the customer to change their wall colors to redesigning their kitchens. Giving an experience that a costumer is immersed in! This is all because of virtual reality.

Seeing how effective virtual reality advertising can be, we’ll see a rise in virtual reality in advertising. These campaigns are what is making virtual reality trend and thrive in company spaces. Virtual reality is an experience. From hiking in Nepal to changing wall paper in your home, virtual reality gives people an experience they never thought they could experience with just a pair of goggles.
